Educational campaigns – workshops

NTUA actively encourages student participation in competitions and initiatives that promote sustainability, cultivating skills and awareness beyond the formal curriculum. For example, mixed teams of students from the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Architectural Engineering participated in international ASHRAE student competitions on sustainable energy design of buildings and systems, achieving significant distinctions (2nd place worldwide in 2021 and 3rd place in 2024).

In July 2018, a group of students from the National Technical University of Athens founded the website Envinow.gr, with the aim of informing and raising awareness of society on issues related to the environment and climate change. Through this website, knowledge is disseminated regarding sustainable development and smart cities, providing a meaningful dialogue between the academic community and the wider society.

The peculiarity of Envinow.gr is that it includes columnists only from the scientific community of professions related to the environment, and specifically students, PhD candidates and professors from the National Technical University of Athens or experienced executives from the environmental market. The editorial team includes participants from 7 different schools of NTUA, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Surveying Engineers and Architectural Engineers.
