Managing/coping Strategies

Managing/coping Strategies

To address the above challenges, it is necessary to implement an integrated approach that combines technological solutions and a change of mindset. NTUA and academic institutions in general can play a leading role in sustainable development if they adopt innovative strategies that will be integrated into the operation and process of education. Below are some of the key strategies that can address the main challenges limiting sustainable development:

The NTUA aims to leverage European Union grant programs and grants from international organizations to finance sustainable projects.

The integration of sustainability into academic programs, as well as the conduct of educational seminars and events, can further contribute to the development of environmental awareness in academia.

The installation of photovoltaic panels, the investigation of the integration of additional RES and the energy upgrade of buildings can reduce energy consumption and enhance the sustainability of the NTUA.

The active involvement of students, faculty and staff through initiatives, such as “green teams” and voluntary sustainability programs, can strengthen the institution’s commitment to sustainable development.

The development of recycling programs, the more generalized installation of sorting bins and the implementation of policies to reduce the use of plastics and paper can reduce the environmental footprint of NTUA.
